Maruti Suzuki Jimny Thunder Edition launched; prices start at Rs 10.74 lakh
Maruti Suzuki has launched the new Jimny Thunder Edition In India with prices starting at Rs 10.74 lakh (ex-showroom). Notably, this special edition model is affordable by Rs 2 lakh compared to the standard model. However, the new prices of the Jimny Thunder Edition are valid only until 31 December, 2023. Meanwhile, the standard Jimny five-door has been priced from Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom).
New Maruti Jimny Thunder Edition: Highlights
While there are no changes to its overall design, the new Jimny Thunder Edition features several new accessories and new graphics - featuring mountains - on its body panels to stand out in the crowd. For reference, there is a front skid plate, door cladding, rain protectors for side windows, silver inserts on the bonnet, outside rearview mirrors, and front and rear fenders.
The standard Jimny is available in a choice of two variants, namely Zeta and Alpha across seven paint options: Nexa Blue, Sizzling Red, Bluish Black, Pearl Arctic White, and Granite Grey, along with Sizzling Red with a Bluish Black roof, and Kinetic Yellow with a Bluish Black roof.
New Maruti Jimny Thunder Edition: Features
The Thunder Edition of the Jimny gets projector LED headlamps, automatic climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SmartPlay Pro+, engine start/stop switch, cruise control, six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability programme, ISOFIX anchor points, hill hold and descent control, and a reverse parking camera, and among others.
New Maruti Jimny Thunder Edition: Powertrain
It comes powered by the 1.5-litre, inline four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine coupled to a five-speed manual or a four-speed torque-convertor automatic transmission. This unit produces 105PS and 136Nm of torque. Maruti has also equipped the SUV with its AllGrip Pro four-wheel-drive system. In terms of mileage, the manual variant is claimed to give out a fuel efficiency of 16.94kmpl, whereas the automatic variant return a fuel economy of 16.39kmpl.
