Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara hits 1 lakh sales milestone

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara celebrates its first anniversary with 1 lakh sales. The Grand Vitara was introduced in September 2022, having both moderate and powerful hybrid technology. The Maruti Grand Vitara replaced the outdated S-Cross crossover as a more capable alternative to compete in the mid-size SUV space, and it now ranks above the Maruti Fronx in the Nexa lineup.

Speaking on the phenomenal achievement, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, "For more than four decades, Maruti Suzuki has been at the forefront of the automotive industry, establishing benchmarks with its revolutionary product portfolio. Grand Vitara accelerated Maruti Suzuki's growth in SUV segment. Maruti Suzuki today is No. 1 in the SUV segment with a market share of 22 percent. Within a mere twelve months since its launch, the Grand Vitara has notched an impressive feat, garnering the adoration of over one lakh customers."

Maruti Suzuki offers its Grand Vitara SUV in six variants. They are called Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Zeta+, Alpha, and Alpha+. The Grand Vitara range starts from Rs 10.70 lakhand rises all the way up to Rs 19.99 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara comes powered by a strong hybrid powertrain. It gets a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor with a mild hybrid system that makes 103PS and 137Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with Toyota's TNGA Atkinson cycle hybrid technology. Together, this system produces 116PS and 122Nm of torque. While the former is mated to a six-speed manual and a CVT automatic, the latter is coupled to only an e-CVT automatic transmission. The Grand Vitara also offers an option of all-wheel drive.

The Grand Vitara CNG is powered by a 1.5-litre, inline-four, naturally aspirated petrol motor mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It produces 88PS at 5,500rpm and 121.5Nm of torque at 4,200rpm in the CNG mode. Whereas, the petrol engine makes 101PS at 6,000rpm and 136Nm of torque at 4,400rpm. Meanwhile, the CNG-powered SUV provides a fuel efficiency of 26.6km/kg.

The Grand Vitara's interior includes a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, heads-up display, ventilated front seats, paddle shifters, and Suzuki Connect telematics. There are also six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring, hill hold assist, and hill descent control, to mention a few safety features.
