Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift leaked showing sharper styling, debut in early 2022
Close on the heels of the launch of the 2021 Maruti Suzuki Baleno, images of the firm's next big product have now leaked. The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift has been revealed in photos online and shows the premium hatchback to have undergone some fairly significant styling changes.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift exterior
Photos show that the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift has ditched the earlier car's simple design for a more aggressive face. The grille has been slimmed and widened with a new honeycomb pattern, and extends in a Y-shape right up to the headlamps. The headlamps themselves have been reprofiled to a slimmer Upward swept look and feature LED lighting in a two-pot arrangement. Also noticeably, the bonnet has been reworked by being pushed back and widened while new bodylines have been added here too. The segmented air dam of the earlier can has now been replaced by a wider, fuller one in the reshaped bumpers as well.
The rear of the facelifted Maruti Suzuki Baleno also sees the LED taillamps cluster being given an L-shaped profile with the extensions into the boot lid. The boot lid itself seems unchanged, although a shark-fin antenna has now been added. The rear bumper seems to have been marginally reworked to fit the new reflector placement. The side profile isn't visible but expect to see a new design for the alloy wheels while contrasting black outer mirrors have been added too.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift interior, features
The interiors of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno haven't been seen but expect to see a reworked dashboard with a new arrangement for the AC vents and a new set of switchgear for the centre console. The instrument may also be tweaked as should the steering wheel.
An expanded list of features is to be expected too. This should be highlighted by a larger touchscreen infotainment possibly with wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, digital instrumentation, cruise control, auto headlamps and wipers and some form of connected car services.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift engine, specifications
The reworked Baleno should continue to remain mechanically identical to the current hatchback. Maruti Suzuki offers the Baleno with a 1.2-litre K12B petrol engine that puts out 83PS and 113 Nm. A different 1.2-litre Dualjet motor makes 90PS and 113 Nm. Both engines pair with a five-speed manual while a CVT is on offer with the less powerful motor.
