Mahindra's pending orders stand at over 2.66 lakh units

Mahindra's recently revealed third-quarter sales report has disclosed that the brand has to catch upon a huge backlog of orders, which stands at over 2.66 lakh. While the XUV700, Thar, and all-new Scorpio-N are the major contributors to its sales growth, these SUVs also constitute overall pending deliveries.

It is said that the Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic are facing a large backlog of orders with about 1.19 lakh units to be delivered. Notably, the Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic are the highest-selling models for Mahindra and receive around 16,500 reservations every month. Not to mention, the Scorpio range accounts for 40 per cent of the carmaker's total pending orders. Whereas, pending deliveries for the XUV700 and Thar stand at approximately 77,000 units and 37,000 units, respectively. Meanwhile, the XUV700 is gathering about 10,000 monthly bookings, while the Thar is attracting over 4,500 reservations for both 4WD and 2WD versions every month.

Furthermore, the waiting period for the Scorpio-N select variants has gone up to 15 months. The range-topping Z8 L has a waiting time of up to 12 months, while the Z8 L automatic has the least waiting period of up to six months. On the other hand, the Z4 variant has the highest wait time of up to 15 months, whereas the base Z2 variant has a waiting period of about 11 months. The Z6 and Z8 variants also have a higher wait time of up to 12 months.
