Mahindra Rise Sustainability Champion Awards announced to recognise young role models of India

The winners of the first-ever "Mahindra Rise Sustainability Champion Awards" were revealed by Mahindra & Mahindra. This Mahindra Automotive project was created to honour up-and-coming young change agents who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to spurring change for the betterment of society.

The Award, a first-of-its-kind honour from the Indian car industry, recognizes up-and-coming sustainability leaders in the fields of clean air, clean energy, green transportation, and clean water.

Mahindra hopes to spur collective action on the sustainability front and encourage more individuals to stand up for the greater good by recognizing and highlighting their success stories. A straightforward three-step process was followed for the Award, which comprised of pre-screening and selection of the final four winners by distinguished jury members.

The Awards want to develop into a distinctive sustainability platform that offers chances and plots routes for today's young changemakers to become tomorrow's game changers. The earnings from the sale of the one-of-a-kind, all-electric XUV400 would be divided evenly among the winners in order to support them further and help them improve their commitment to India's net-zero ambition. This Special Edition was created in association with Mahindra's Chief Design Officer Pratap Bose and young, avant-garde fashion designer Rimzim Dadu.

The winners of the awards are - in the Clean Air category Apurva Bhandari, founder of SankalpTaru, in the Clean Energy category Simarpreet Singh, founder of Hartek Solar, in the Green Mobility category Nikita Lalwani, founder & CEO of CroozeApp and in the Clean Water category Garvita Gulhati, founder & CEO of Why Waste?
