Mahindra Reva installs charging station at Bangalore International Airport

Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. and Bangalore International Airport Ltd. (BIAL) have announced a partnership to install an electric vehicle (EV) charging facility at the airport.

This collaboration will make BIAL the only Indian airport to have an EV charging infrastructure in place. Mahindra e2o owners not only get access to this exclusive charging station but also a 20 per cent discount on parking charges.

Bengaluru has the maximum number of EVs on the streets, and is considered an EV-friendly market. Although 95 per cent of the charging for EVs is done at home by customers, Mahindra has installed around 100 charging units across the city. Mahindra claims strategic placement of these units, one every 5km. Places that have these charging stations include SBI branches, shopping malls, couple of garages, Mahindra dealerships, Mom & Me outlets and now the international airport.

The e20 gets its power from a 3 Phase Induction Motor that delivers 26PS of power and 53Nm of peak torque to the rear wheels. The power bank is a 48V lithium-ion battery placed under the front seats. It boast of a top speed of 81kmph and goes 100 km in one full charge.
