Made-in-India Honda Elevate goes on sale in South Africa
Honda Motor Southern Africa has introduced the new Elevate in the South African market. Priced from R 3,69,900, the compact SUV is available in a choice of two variants: Comfort and Elegance. In contrast, the price of the India-spec model ranges between Rs 11.58 lakh and Rs 16.20 lakh (both ex-showroom) and is offered in SV, V, VX, and ZX variants.

The design of the Honda Elevate available in South Africa is identical to the India-spec model. It comes in six colour options: Phoenix Orange Pearl, Platinum White Pearl, and Obsidian Blue Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Meteoroid Grey Metallic, and Radiant Red Metallic. On the flip side, the SUV gets an additional Goldern Brown Metallic shade in India. Plus, Platinum White Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, and Phoenix Orange Pearl are available with Crystal Black Pearl Roof in India. On the inside, the South Africa-spec model features an all-black cabin compared to the dual-tone theme of the India-spec Elevate.

South Africa-spec Honda Elevate: Engine and transmission
The Elevate gets the same is a 1.5-litre, inline four-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine as the Indian model. In fact, the six-speed manual and CVT automatic transmission are also available in the South Africa-spec model. This motor makes 121PS and 145Nm of torque. For India, the Elevate manual and CVT return a claimed mileage of 15.31kmpl and 16.92kmpl, respectively.

While the India-spec Elevate comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen system, the model offered in South Africa gets a smaller eight-inch unit. Plus, there is no ADAS. Other key similar features include a seven-inch display with an analogue cluster, ambient lighting, an electric sunroof, leatherette upholstery, a lane watch camera, connected car tech, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six speakers, wireless charging pad, LED headlights and fog lamps, ESC, six airbags, and electronic stability control (ESC), among others.
