Mercedes-Benz India, despite a temporary setback in its 2020 launch schedules due to the pandemic, is all set to launch not one, but two new models in India, both powered by the excellent 4-litre biturbo V8, in different states of tune. The first is the C 63 Coupe, which will be offered in India for the first time, and the refreshed AMG GT R. The AMG GT R brings with it relatively subtle visual changes limited to redesigned LED lighting elements within the headlights/tail lights, and tweaked aerodynamics, apart from a fully digital instrument cluster and improved infotainment. We expect it to be priced quite close to the outgoing model's Rs 2.2 crore ex-showroom tag.
On the other hand, the C 63 Coupe is an India-first. Previously offered as a sedan in the higher-powered C 63 S guise until last year, the two-door coupe looks a fair bit more stylish and aggressive than even that AMG four-door. We expect the equipment on the C 63 Coupe to match what's available on the top-variant C-Class sedan.
