Lifetime replacement spares and labour covered under Volvo Cars' new lifetime parts warranty scheme
Volvo Cars India has introduced a lifetime parts warranty scheme for its vehicles in India, which currently span the SUV line-up comprising of the Volvo XC40, XC60, XC90, XC90 Recharge and Volvo S60 sedan, with the XC40 Recharge all-electric SUV expected to launch in 2022. Under the scheme, any new genuine Volvo spares fitted to a Volvo car by the original owner of the vehicle will be replaced by the company free of charge should it need replacement for any reason over the lifetime of the vehicle - as long as it remains under the original owner's care. The new warranty scheme came into effect at the start of October 2021 and is applicable to any new replacement parts purchased by the original owner from here on out, which should serve as peace of mind for potential Volvo buyers. This lifetime replacement parts warranty is said to be the only one of its kind in India currently.
The scheme covers the cost of any replacement parts, as well as any associated labour charges - even after the vehicle's standard warranty runs out. The usual stipulations apply, as in the warranty is only applicable for genuine spare parts, purchased at authorised Volvo workshops across India, with regular company service history. Further clarifying, the fine print reads that if any Genuine Volvo part should need replacement due to material or manufacturing defect, it will be replaced under the new scheme. Regular wear and tear of parts, accessories, consumables etc are not covered under the scheme. Also, if a part needs replacement while the vehicle is under its original warranty, and is eligible for a free replacement, that part will not fall under the gambit of the new lifetime parts warranty scheme.
