Lexus India announce the winners of the Lexus Design Awards
Lexus India announced the winners of the sixth edition of the Lexus Design Awards India (LDAI). Over 1,000 submissions were submitted for the LDAI 2023 competition, and prizes were given in eight different categories and one special mention.
The international Lexus Design Awards, which were established in 2013, have an Indian counterpart called LDAI. To promote development and advance the idea that design can benefit society, the competition brings together designers from many sectors. It honours and recognizes individuals who have unique, ground-breaking answers to pressing problems facing our nation and the rest of the world.
Mahek Parvez, a 19-year-old winner, took first place in the Established category for Eco-Innovation. By extending the shelf life of perishable agri-produce, her entry, "Sun Harvested CoolRooms," ensures both farmer income and food security.
Chandru won the student category for his submission, "Cookmate," a versatile cooking tool that can be used as a hot pot, sauce pan, or even a frying pan all in one package. It also has an induction heating mechanism. This year, Lexus has also promised the conceptual category winners up to Rs 5 lakh apiece to promote the creation and commercialization of their proposals.
