Launched: 2013 Mercedes-Benz medium-duty trucks in India
Daimler India Commercial Vehicles has launched medium-duty trucks in the 9-12 ton range. This launch follows that of last year's heavy duty range in the 25-31 ton segment. The medium-duty trucks will be used mainly for the construction and distribution purposes. Trucks introduced by DICV in this segment have power outputs in the 140-170hp range and the company claims that these are 10 per cent more fuel efficient than the competition.
Marc Llistosella, managing director and CEO of DICV said, "Our new medium-duty models will be setting new standards of efficiency and dynamics on Indian roads â" in particular when rising fuel prices become an issue in India. Our customers trust our reliable products. This is demonstrated by our sales successes for the heavy-duty Bharat-Benz trucks."
