Launched 2012 Honda Brio automatic in India
Honda has launched the Brio automatic in India in two trims â" S(O) at Rs 5.74 lakh and V at Rs 5.99 lakh ex-Delhi, approximately Rs 80,000 more than the equivalent manual trim. The Brio automatic borrows its 88PS 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine from the manual variant. A 5-speed torque convertor similar to the one in the City handles the transmission duties. There are no paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, but the transmission other than the regular D mode also features three more driving modes â" D3 - The gearbox shifts only between 1st and 2nd gear, D2 â" stays in 2nd gear only and D1 â" gearbox doesn't shift beyond 1st gear. In our test, the Brio automatic raced from 0-100kmph in 17.1 seconds, which is 4.25 seconds more than the manual. ARAI claimed fuel efficiency is 16.5kmpl, 2.9kmpl less than the manual.
