Lamborghini Urus crosses 15,000-unit production mark
SUVs are taking over all other segments and every carmaker wants to have a pie of the segment. Lamborghini Urus was announced three years ago and the 15,000th Urus is a Graphite Capsule edition heading to the British market. Lamborghini recently announced its best-ever half-yearly sales and here achieves another milestone. Lamborghini Urus has been a big contributor to the success of Automobili Lamborghini since its global unveil in December 2017. The Urus doubled the brand's sales within one year and has been a strong seller since then.
Talking about the Urus, Lamborghini gave it a small makeover last year but the internals remain the same as before. Powering the Urus is a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that is shared with the Porsche Cayenne, Audi RSQ8 and other VW-group SUVs. In the Urus, it produces 650PS and 850 Nm of torque. Thanks to the ferocious power delivery, the Urus can do the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.6 seconds and touch the top speed of 305 kmph, just 1 kmph shy of becoming the fastest SUV on planet earth.
Close to home, Lamborghini India has delivered over 100 units of the Urus and the recently launched Pearl Capsule garnered good interest. Lamborghini Urus retails at Rs 3.13 crores, ex-showroom, before options. India is one of the key markets for Automobili Lamborghini and that has been further exemplified by the launch of the Huracan STO that has been priced at a whooping 5 crores ex-showroom.
