KTM has launched its second-gen KTM RC 200 and KTM RC 125 models in India at Rs 2.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 1.82 lakh, respectively. At these prices, both the RC 125 and RC 200 cost roughly the same as the older-gen models, but these prices are introductory and are most likely to increase at the start of 2022.

Both the MY 2022 KTM RC 125 and RC 200 feature the same, new headlight design with a bigger windscreen, the only difference being that the RC 200 gets an all-LED lights headlight setup while the RC125 makes do with halogen bulbs. Both bikes get LED daytime running lights and turn indicators, new body panels that are designed to help disperse heat away from the rider better, new-shape and better cushioned seats, a redesigned tail section, stiffer and lighter trellis frame with a bolt-on sub-frame that is said to improve handling, adjustable clip-on handlebars that improves ergonomics, an LCD instrument cluster and a large 13.7 litres fuel tank (the older-gen models came with a 9.5 litre tank).

Other changes include a WP Apex fork with 10mm of additional travel, a larger airbox, lighter alloy wheels, bigger and lighter front discs (320mm front and 230 mm rear) what come with 'Supermoto' dual-channel ABS as standard on both bikes, a curved radiator and an aluminium pillion grab handle. Thanks to the weight savings, the 2022 KTM RC 125 weighs in at 150kg while the 2022 KTM RC 200 weighs in at 151 kg (dry).

With alterations and optomisations made to the airbox and radiator, KTM claims the RC 125 and RC 200 to offer a punchier midrange performance, although the max power output figures of both liquid-cooled motors remain the same as before. The KTM RC 125's single-cylinder, 124.7 cc unit churns out 15 14.9PS @ 9250rpm and 12Nm @ 8,000rpm, while the RC 200's 199.5cc single-cylinder engine makes 25PS @ 10,000rpm and 19.2Nm @ 8,000rpm. Both bikes engines are mated to six-speed gearboxes.

The bookings for the 2022 KTM RC 125 and the 2022 KTM RC 200 are now open at all KTM showrooms across the country. The new RC 200 will reach showrooms this month itself, with the RC 125 expected to hit showrooms in November 2021. KTM will also launch the second-gen RC 390 in India in the next couple of months, so stay tuned!
