KTM 990 RC R Track breaks cover
KTM has unveiled the 990 RC R Track, focused on track performance, that bike has been stripped away of all road-going equipment to deliver a sharper, race-ready experience. Based on the standard 990 RC R introduced last year, this new version is built exclusively for track use and is not street legal.

- Deliveries expected from April 2026
- Powered by 947cc LC8c parallel-twin engine pushing 135 PS and 105 Nm
- Rides on Michelin Power Slick tyres
Powering the 990 RC R Track is the familiar 947cc LC8c parallel-twin engine, now tuned to produce 135 PS and 105 Nm of torque. That's a small but meaningful increase over the standard model's output. KTM has also equipped the bike with a racing gearbox setup, featuring a taller first gear and a shorter sixth gear to better suit circuit riding. An Akrapovic Evolution Line exhaust system, weighing just 3 kg, further enhances performance while reducing weight.

The bike rides on Michelin Power Slick tyres, underlining its pure track intent. Suspension is handled by fully adjustable WP APEX components at the front and rear, specifically calibrated for track conditions. Braking duties are taken care of by Brembo Hypure calipers paired with a 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc. In keeping with its race focus, the braking system operates without ABS.
KTM has also managed to reduce overall weight by 2 kg, thanks to a more compact electronics setup. The 990 RC R Track offers three configurable Track riding modes, allowing riders to fine-tune throttle response, traction control, wheel slip regulation, anti-wheelie, launch control and engine braking. A pit limiter and bi-directional quickshifter are also included, while a 4.2-inch full-colour TFT display provides key information.

Aerodynamics take inspiration from KTM's MotoGP contender, the KTM RC16. The bike features a taller windscreen for improved wind protection at high speeds. KTM also supplies a wet-weather tail-light and a paddock stand as standard. The KTM 990 RC R Track is scheduled to reach international dealerships starting April 2026.
