Kia Sonet reaches 1.5 lakh sales milestone in under 2 years
Kia India is celebrating the sale of 1.5 lakh Kia Sonet small SUVs in India. In slightly under two years from its introduction in September 2020, the vehicle has accomplished this astounding achievement.
The Sonet has been a popular vehicle in its market, contributing over 32 percent of Kia's overall sales and fueling the small SUV segment's development.
The automaker also stated that 26 percent of buyers opted to purchase the Kia Sonet's top models. Furthermore, the Kia Sonet is said to have a 15 percent market share in the extremely competitive compact SUV class.
After the Kia Seltos, the Kia Sonet was released in India in September 2020 as the brand's second SUV. According to Kia, the iMT transmission-equipped model accounts for 25 percent of Sonet's total sales.
Kia India also claimed that the two most preferred colours for the Sonet are Glacier White Pearl and Aurora Black Pearl, contributing 44 percent to the total sales of the compact SUV. The Kia Sonet range starts from Rs 7.15 lakh.
Commenting on this milestone, Myung-sik Sohn - Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said, "We are delighted that Sonet has added 1.5 Lakh customers to the Kia India family. Today's evolved urban Indian customer is dynamic, tech-savvy, and bold, and we are incredibly proud to have developed a product that has proven to be the right companion for them. The Sonet has won several accolades not only for its design, performance, and practicality but also by creating favourability for iMT and introducing the only Diesel AT in the segment. In April this year, we added 4 airbags as standard across even the lower variants of Sonet, further enhancing the vehicle's safety and propelling its popularity."
