Kia Seltos diesel 6-speed manual gearbox launched; prices start at Rs 12 lakh

Kia has launched the Seltos diesel 1.5-litre diesel with a six-speed manual gearbox in India with prices starting at Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). This new transmission option is available across five variants in the Tech Line version, starting from HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, and HTX+. Along with the new six-speed manual gearbox, the carmaker also offers the refreshed SUV with an iMT and a six-speed automatic transmission in the diesel guise. With this, the Seltos is now available in 24 variants.

Kia Seltos: Powertrain

The Seltos gets a 1.5-litre, inline four-cylinder, turbo-petrol motor generating 160PS and 253Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed iMT or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The SUV also comes powered by a 1.5-litre, inline four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 115PS and 143.8Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre, inline four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel unit that comes paired with a six-speed iMT or a six-speed automatic transmission. This engine makes 116PS and 250Nm of torque.

The new Smartstream 1.5-litre TGDi petrol engine returns an ARAI mileage of 17.7kmpl with iMT and 17.9kmpl with DCT automatic transmissions. In contrast, the ARAI-tested fuel economy of the old 1.4-litre turbo petrol motor was 16.1kmpl with a manual gearbox and 16.5kmpl DCT automatic transmission. Further, the 1.5-litre diesel motor with an iMT and AT has an ARAI-certified mileage of 20.7kmpl and 19.1kmpl, respectively. Whereas, the 1.5-litre NA petrol gives out a fuel economy of 17kmpl with a manual gearbox and 17.7kmpl with a CVT automatic, as per ARAI test cycle.

Kia Seltos: Colours

The Seltos is offered with eight mono-tone and two duel-tone colours, such as Intense Red, Imperial Blue, Gravity Grey, Sparkling Silver, Aurora Black Pearl, Clear White, Glacier White, and Pewter Oliver, including Glacier White Pearl with Aurora Black Pearl and Intense Red with Aurora Black Pearl. Whereas, the range-topping Seltos X-Line adorns a special Matte Graphite shade.
