Kia India boasts an 18 percent increase in April sales

Kia India sells 19,019 vehicles in April 2022, an increase of 18 percent year over year. With this, Kia India now claims to have firmly established itself as one of the country's top five automakers.

Kia India had a significant market share of 6.5 percent in April 2022, which was up 0.9 percent from the same period the previous year. With 7,506 units sold, the Kia Seltos continues to be the most important contributor to overall sales, followed by the recently launched Kia Carens with 5,754 units, Kia Sonet with 5,404 units and Kia Carnival with 355 units sold.

This month, Kia India put another feather to its cap by claiming to surpass the 2 lakh connected car sales mark in the country.

Kia India has announced its foray into the electric vehicle market, stating that the highly acclaimed Kia EV6 will be launched in India soon. The Kia EV6 is based on Kia's new dedicated EV platform E-GMP, which won European Car of the Year. Kia India hopes to provide superior mobility solutions to its Indian clients with the EV6.

Only 100 vehicles will be offered in India, with reservations beginning on May 26, 2022.

Commenting on the performance, Hardeep Singh Brar, VP and Head of Sales & Marketing, Kia India said, "Kia India has sold close to 20,000 units on an average, every month in 2022 and it has been a healthy year for us. The global automotive industry has been facing a tough phase battling supply chain woes since the Covid-19 pandemic started in 2020. We have been receiving overwhelming demand for our vehicles, and we are optimising our production consistently to keep the waiting period in check."
