JLR India records 105 per cent growth; achieves best-ever H1 sales

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India is celebrating significant achievements in its sales performance. The company reported a remarkable 105 per cent year-on-year growth and achieved its best-ever H1 (April to September) sales with 2,356 units sold during the first half of the fiscal year 2023. Furthermore, JLR achieved the highest-ever increase in sales in the second quarter, with 1,308 units retailed, representing a 108 per cent year-on-year growth. The performance continued from the first quarter, which saw a 102 per cent growth compared to the same period the previous year. In addition to new car sales, JLR's pre-owned business also thrived, experiencing an impressive 83 per cent growth in H1 FY24.

The popular Defender model was a standout performer, recording sales of 1,000 units during the first half of the year, marking a remarkable year-on-year growth of 250 per cent. Other models such as the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Defender remained in high demand, accounting for 72 per cent of the total order book. In fact, the current order book spans over eight months of sales. Further, the 2024 Range Rover Velar has received 750 open orders, indicating strong customer interest in this model. JLR India's order book for the financial year 2024 is showing consistent growth, with the H1 closing order book being 90 per cent higher compared to the same period in the previous year.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajan Amba, Managing Director, JLR India, said, "We are pleased with our strong performance in H1 and Q2 FY24. The consistent growth in our order book exemplifies the growing strength of our brand and products in the hearts of Indian consumers. We will continue to introduce new products that are best suited to meet the discerning needs of our customers and invest in strengthening our brand desire and client experience."
