Jeep Meridian 2.0 continues testing under camouflage

Earlier this year Jeep India confirmed that the Meridian facelift will debut later this year with a few features and cosmetic updates. The car has now been spotted testing in India with a full camouflage. The Compass-based three-row SUV will mechanically remain unchanged but will come with some exterior updates and interior upgrades.

Jeep Meridian facelift: Exterior and Interior

As shown in the image, the Meridian facelift will maintain a similar structure with minor alterations. Only the grille might be significantly changed, and the bumper appears to have a new design with new silver accents around the fog lamp housing. A radar module positioned on the bumper suggests the possible inclusion of ADAS technology. It can get new alloy wheels, a revamped taillight system, and a reworked back bumper.

Except for some new upholstery, the Meridian SUV's interior is unlikely to alter significantly. It retains the same-sized free-standing infotainment system, digital driver's display, multi-functional steering wheel, and elevated centre console. The updated Meridian, on the other hand, is expected to include a revised cabin motif, including updated upholstery, a reworked air conditioning panel, and extra amenities like a dash camera and rear window shades.

Jeep Meridian facelift: Powertrain

Mechanically, Jeep is unlikely to make alterations to the Meridian facelift's drivetrain. It will continue to be equipped with a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 170PS and 350Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and a nine-speed automatic torque converter unit. A 4WD system will be available in select models.

The current Jeep Meridian is priced between Rs 33.60 lakh and 39.66 lakh (ex-showroom), so prices might rise up slightly for this updated car upon its launch.
