Indian Grand Prix 2013: Karun Chandhok tells us the best spots at BIC to watch the F1 race

I think one of the best things about the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) is that from the very beginning, there were conscious attempts to make sure that the BIC would be a spectator friendly circuit. This, because India, back in 2011, was a new market for Formula 1. The best way to ensure that spectators would be engaged would be to make sure that they could watch the race itself. Which is why the viewing areas at the BIC are designed so that you can see more than just a single turn or straight from your seats.

Just the sight of the F1 cars barreling down the T10/T11 complex, makes it worth it sitting in the seats in the Premium Stand SouthJust the sight of the F1 cars barreling down the T10/T11 complex, makes it worth it sitting in the seats in the Premium Stand South

If you take a look at the Main Grandstand, not only can you see the entire main straight and pitlane, you can see Turns 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, as well as the Parabolica and the last corner, provided your seats are high enough.

Another good place to watch the race from, if you aren't going to be springing for tickets in the Main Grandstand, is the Parabolica from where you get to see the brilliant Turn 10/11 complex, but you can also see as far back as Turn 5 all the way to Turn 15. Just the sight of the F1 cars barreling down the T10/T11 complex, makes it worth sitting in the Premium Stand South.

Turn 4 is another great place to watch the race from because you can actually see a good 50 per cent of the track. The Tilke Group and JPSI too have done a terrific job of ensuring that the track has places where people can see overtaking aplenty. And Turn 4 is one of those spots. You can also expect to see plenty of overtaking at Turn 3.

A view of Turn 16 is also great because you can see the Parabolica, the downhill section, the quick chicane at Turn 13/14. It really depends on what you're looking for, but the BIC seems to have it all. And in terms of the landscaping, and the way grass banks have been created so you can view the racetracks from the natural stands, there really are options aplenty!
