Kia India has announced that the updated Sonet will make its global premiere on December 14th. The firm may start reservations for the tiny SUV on the same day, but the pricing announcement is planned in January 2024. A preview video displays some design features as well as what to anticipate inside.

Kia Sonet Facelift: Exterior Design

As seen in the image, the redesigned Kia Sonet is painted in red and features a reworked front fascia with a smaller grille. The facelifted sub-4-metre SUV has new LED headlights that are slightly identical to those seen on the current Seltos. The only change to the side profile is the new set of alloy wheels.

Lower variants of the Sonet models will continue to be equipped with halogen headlights rather than LEDs. Kia's 'tiger-nose' grille has also been changed, as has the new, more aggressive bumper. Aside from that, the fog lamps are now horizontally positioned and fairly thin.

Kia Sonet Facelift: Interior and Features

We only get a sneak peek of the redesigned Sonet's cabin, but the layout hasn't been altered much. A huge centrally positioned 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen remains. The cabin of the new Sonet will remain feature-rich, with a huge infotainment screen, redesigned HVAC panel and aircon vents, auto-dimming IRVM, Bose-sourced audio system, semi-digital instrument cluster, automated climate control, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and an all-black interior motif.

Six airbags will remain standard across the board, while higher models will receive a rear camera, cornering lights, hill-start aid, ESC, and a tire pressure monitoring system. According to sources, the new Kia Sonet will also include Level-1 ADAS technology, however this has yet to be confirmed.

Kia Sonet Facelift: Powertrains

The existing 83PS and 115Nm, 1.2-litre petrol engine, the 120PS and 172Nm, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, and a 116PS and 250Nm, 1.5-litre diesel engine are anticipated to be retained in the Sonet facelift. The petrol engine is likely to be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the turbo-petrol and diesel engines will continue to use the 6-speed iMT. They will also receive a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and a 6-speed automatic transmission, respectively.
