Auto Expo 2020 is right around the corner but Skoda Volkswagen Group held a conference just before the event to shed some light on its India 2.0 strategy (Led by Skoda). The group has also launched the Audi A8 L and showcased concept cars that will be in production form by 2021.
One such concept showcased was the Skoda Vision IN that will spawn a mid-sized SUV in the segment of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
The design details visible on the concept look sharp and that front face is attractive. The LED graphics though are pretty cool, especially the accents on the Skoda badge on the hood
The Vision IN concept also sits on 19-inch wheels and the production version would have 17-inch offerings which may change the stance that the SUV presents currently
What we can say for certain is that the dashboard will have the floating infotainment screen and probably the layered effect on the dashboard
The interiors at this time are too concept like, and don't clearly represent what could be the final outcome
According to Bernhard Maier, Chairman of the Board of Management at Skoda Auto, the manufacturer will principally be looking at petrol powertrains in the Vision IN
The Vision IN concept is powered by a 1.5-litre TFSI petrol engine. Output from this is rated at 150PS
The wheelbase for the Vision IN is the same as that on the Volkswagen, around 2.65 metres with overall length also a similar 4.2 metres
The MQB AO IN platform will also see an all-new notchback sedan emerging to replace the Rapid
Certain angles of the Vision IN also bear a stark resemblance to the Ford Ecosport
