Isuzu's all-new SUV for India, the MU-X, has been launched at Rs 23.99 lakh for the 4x2 trim and Rs 25.99 lakh for the 4x4 trim, ex-Delhi, respectively. Underneath the shiny paintwork is the D-Max V-Cross' chassis. This is also shared with the erstwhile Chevrolet Trailblazer. Isuzu assembles the MU-X in India with certain components like the engine and transmission directly imported from Japan. You can read more about it here and scroll down for more images of the newly launched Fortuner-Endeavour rival.
The MU-X subscribes to the old-school design language that SUVs were first known for
The dashboard is similar to the V-Cross except that the MU-X has a push-button start, slightly different meters and cruise control
There is enough space in the second row. Seated here is a 6-footer
The projector headlamp set-up is the same as the V-Cross
There is a centrally mounted DVD screen in the MU-X, and it is operated by a remote control
This is the blower control (in centre) for the second-row AC vents. The buttons next to it are for the reading lamps

The 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine makes 177PS/380Nm and is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission
The rear of the car looks far modern than the front. The MU-X gets a reverse camera but no parking sensors
With the third row in place, the boot capacity is 235 litres. With the second and third row folding flat on to the floor, this increases to 878 litres
The 17-inch multi-spoke alloys look great and are wrapped with Bridgestone Dueller tyres
The key fob looks and feels premium
Starts Rs 33.23 Lakhs
