The trending SUV bug seems to have bit Skoda as well. The Czech car manufacturer has already confirmed that it plans to bring the Kodiaq to India in this festive season. The Kodiaq will be a flagship SUV for the company. However, it is not just the Kodiaq that is headed our way. Skoda has also revealed the Karoq SUV that is said to be the successor of the Yeti. Underpinning this new SUV is the MQB platform that also underpowers the flagship Kodiaq SUV, Superb as well as the Volkswagen Tiguan. The Skoda Kodiaq will go on sale in the international markets by the end of this year and we believe the SUV will arrive in India sometime early next year. The front profile of the Skoda Karoq bears heavy resemblance to the Kodiaq SUV
The Skoda Karoq measures 4,382mm in length, 1,841mm in width and 1,605mm in height. This makes it 104mm smaller, 258mm narrower and 52mm shorter than the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan SUV
The Skoda Karoq gets the optional all-LED crystalline finished headlights with DRLs, a design trait that is expected to be seen on the brand's SUV range in the future as well
The side profile has been kept simple except for the flared wheel arches and large wheels.
The infotainment system in the Skoda Karoq will be compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto as well as MirrorLink. Skoda states that the basic system with come with SmartLink+ system
The most powerful motor that will be offered in the Skoda Karoq is the 2.0 TDI that makes 190PS of power and comes with 7-speed DSG and 4×4 drivetrain as standard
The Skoda Karoq will be available with a choice between five engines, two petrol and three diesel
The Skoda Karoq will feature all-new two petrol engines and two diesel engines
The Skoda Karoq will compete with the likes of Hyundai and Volkswagen Tiguan
