The first leg of the Hyundai Tucson Great India Drive was an eye-opening experience, as we've experienced the sights and sounds of the North East in a way that left an indelible impression on us. The beauty of the places and the warmth of the people we met were something to experience. And as you can see from the images we've published before, the sights make you want to explore more of the paradise, that's the North East.

The second set of images you see here was captured on the final leg of the journey around the seven states in the North East - Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

The magnificent Loktak lake is situated a few kilometres from Imphal, the capital of Manipur. The lake stretches across 980 sq,km and is quite a spectacular sight. The green circles you see are called Phumdis. Villagers use these for fishing too, The magnificent Loktak Lake is situated a few kilometres from Imphal, the capital of Manipur.
