The Ducati Monster 797 is set to go on sale in India on June 14, 2017, and we were quite impressed with the bike at the first ride in Bangkok, Thailand. The baby Monster is designed to offer a quick yet friendly riding experience for both beginners as well as experienced riders. The 803cc, air-cooled, L-twin motor produces 75PS at 8,250rpm and 68.9Nm at 5,750rpm. Power delivery is smooth and not intimidating at all. The Monster 797's design borrows cues from the '90s Monster, and in that vein it has the familiar rounded headlamp, beefy tank and the exposed single-piece, steel-tube trellis frame
This may be an entry-level Monster but that does not mean that Ducati has cut corners in the quality department. The paint finish, quality of plastics and overall fit are in line with other Ducatis
The short 1,435mm wheelbase makes it super flickable
The chiselled tank takes pride of place and looks really good
Clean and minimal rear looks great

The Ducati Monster 797 press test was coupled with the Ducati Riding Experience (DRE) in Thailand, for beginners. The first level teaches the basics of riding a motorcycle, even if you haven't ridden one before. Here, Lek is seen explaining the importance of maintaining balance
