Hyundai Verna launch tomorrow, what to expect?

Hyundai India will introduce the latest Verna in India. The new model has already started to arrive at local dealerships. Reservations for the car are now available for Rs 25,000.

Upcoming Hyundai Verna: Variants and Exterior

Hyundai is offering the Verna in four variants: EX, S, SX, and SX (O).

The new Hyundai Verna is larger and broader than the current vehicle, yet it has the same height, measuring 4,535mm in length, 1,765mm in width, and 1,475mm high. It also has a boot capacity of 528 litres.

The teaser pictures reveal a new dual-display setup of the new-gen Verna. This setup comprises a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. The new Verna also features a valet mode, quiet mode, map and navigation, Bluelink-connected car technology with smartwatch connectivity, and phone projection, among others.

Above all, Hyundai has given it ventilated and heated front-row seats and an eight-speaker Bose sound system. Notably, the new Verna would be the first car in its segment to offer heated seats. Apart from that, the brand has also confirmed touch capacitive controls for temperature control. One of the earlier teasers had shown the multifunctional steering wheel of the all-new Verna, which also appears to be a new unit.

Upcoming Hyundai Verna: Powertrains

The upcoming new-gen Verna will be powered by a new 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged (T-GDi) petrol engine producing 160PS and 253Nm of torque. It will also carry forward its predecessor's naturally aspirated 1.5-litre inline-four (MPi) petrol engine that delivers 115PS and 144Nm of torque. Both motors will be paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. Automatic transmission options will include a seven-speed dual-clutch or a CVT.

Upcoming Hyundai Verna: Rivals and Price

When launched the Hyundai Verna will go up against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and the new Honda City. It is expected that the prices of the all-new Hyundai Verna will start at Rs 10 lakh and go up to 18 lakh.
