Hyundai launches Grand i10 in India at Rs 4.29 lakh
Hyundai Motors India Ltd has launched the fifth hatchback in its Indian range, the Grand i10. The Grand i10 retails at Rs 4.29 lakh, ex-Delhi.
The Grand is basically the new i10 in a whole new guise. But Hyundai will not replace the i10 and sell the Grand with the i10 and the i20, positioned between them.
Hyundai officials with the new Grand i10
The Grand gets both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine is the tried and tested 1.2-litre Kappa2 Dual VTVT that powers the i10 and the i20. The diesel engine is a new 1.1-litre three cylinder U2 CRDi engine which is a tweaked version of the i20?s 1.4-litre CRDi engine. The petrol engine delivers 85PS while the diesel engine makes 71PS. Both get a 5-speed manual transmission with the petrol getting the option of a 4-speed auto as well. The automatic variant though will be introduced at a later date.
The Grand i10 clearly gets Hyundai's quintessential Fluidic design scheme. It comes in the same four variants as the current i10, namely Era, Magna, Sports and Asta, with the latter being the top variant.
Class leading features like 2 Din Audio system, steering mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, rear parking sensors, cooled glove box, rear air con vents, push button start, Smart Key, electronic OVRM and 14" alloys make it to the Asta.
