Hyundai i20 facelift introduced in the UK
Hyundai UK has launched the 2023 i20 facelift in the United Kingdom with prices starting from £20,770. The mid-life update brings subtle changes to the hatchback's exterior, feature-list, colour options, and wheels. The South Korean automaker offers the i20 facelift in the country in a choice of three trim levels, Advance, Premium, and Ultimate. The facelifted model is due for India and is expected to arrive sometime later this year, featuring more or less the same updates.
2023 Hyundai i20 facelift: Exterior design
The refreshed i20 boasts several minor changes in terms of design, such as redesigned front and rear bumpers, radiator grille, taillights, repositioned front Hyundai logo, and a new set of 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels. Hyundai has also given it new paint options, namely Lucid Lime Metallic, Meta Blue Pearl, and Lumen Grey Pearl. Interestingly, the new Lucid Lime interior theme package is also available with the seats finished in a new design with a bold vertical line, embossed horizontal dotted lines, and lime-coloured stitching. In addition, the updated i20 offers a boot space of 352 litres with the rear seats up and 1,165 litres when the rear seats are folded down.

On the inside, it boasts the new connectivity features, such as USB Type-C, upgraded Hyundai's Bluelink telematics, and OTA map updates. The hatchback continues with its 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital driver display, and a wireless phone charger.
The UK-spec i20 facelift gets Hyundai Safety Sense as standard that comprises forward collision avoidance assist (city, pedestrian, interurban, and cyclist) and lane following assist, whereas rear cross-traffic collision assist, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, and navigation-based smart cruise control are available as optional extras. These advanced driver assistance systems are unlikely to be offered in the India-bound model.
2023 Hyundai i20 facelift: Powertrain
Powering the i20 facelift in the UK is a 1.0-litre, inline three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine generating 100PS. This motor comes mated to a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The refreshed i20 range now starts with the Advance at £20,770 MT and £22,020 AT. On the other hand, the prices of the mid-spec Premium and range-topping Ultimate start at £22,570 MT and £23,820 AT along with £24,070MT and £25,320 AT, respectively.
