Hyundai Exter achieves 75,000 units bookings milestone

Launched in July 2023, the Hyundai Exter has been a success story for South Korean automaker Hyundai. In fact, it has added another feather in its cap by achieving a 75,000 units booking milestone in India. It is to be noted that the introductory pricing of the Exter recently came to a halt and hence the SUV, including the CNG version, now commands a higher premium of up to Rs 16,000.

Hyundai Exter: Colour and variants

The Tata Punch competitor is offered in a choice of seven variants, starting from EX, EX (O), S, S (O), SX, SX (O), and SX (O) Connect. There are also two CNG variants. Further, it comes with six single-tone colours and three dual-tone paint jobs. The mono-tone options are Ranger Khaki, Fiery Red, Atlas White, Starry Night, Cosmic Blue, and Titan Grey, including Cosmic Blue with Abyss Black, Atlas Black with Abyss Black, and Ranger Khaki with Abyss Black.

Hyundai Exter: Highlights

The Grand i10 Nios and Aura-inspired cabin comes with three themes, namely Cosmic Blue, Light Sage, and Silver. There is an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch MID, seven ambient sounds of nature, a wireless charging pad, semi-leatherette seat covers, footwell lighting, and Type-C ports.

Hyundai has also given it over-the-air (OTA) updates, a dual dash cam, a voice assisted electric sunroof, cruise control, 90 embedded voice commands, 10 Indian and two international languages support, Home to Car (H2C) voice commands in Hindi and English with Alexa, Bluelink with over 60 connected car features, TPMS, a rearview camera with parking sensors, metal paddles, paddle shifters, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The standard safety features of the Exter include six airbags, ESC, VSM, ABS with EBD, all three-point seat belts with reminders, hill start assist, and burglar alarm, among others.

New Hyundai Exter: Engine, power output, and transmission

The Exter comes powered by a 1.2-litre, inline four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 83PS and 114Nm of torque. This motor is paired with a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT transmission. Additionally, the CNG version coupled to a manual gearbox generates 69PS and 95.2Nm of torque. 

The Exter MT can claim to give out a mileage of 19.4kmpl, whereas the Exter AMT unit returns a fuel economy of 19.2kmpl. The claimed mileage of the Exter CNG version is claimed to be 27.1km/kg.
