Hyundai Elantra base variant discontinued, prices now start at Rs 18.49 lakh
Hyundai India has refreshed the variant list for the Hyundai Elantra sedan. The base S variant has now been discontinued, with the SX MT, SX AT and SX(O) AT versions available now. Prices now start at Rs 18.49 lakh. The S trim was priced at Rs 15.89 lakh.
The Elantra is available with a BSVI compliant version of the 2-litre petrol engine, which continues to make 152PS at 6,200rpm and 192 Nm at 4,000rpm. Two transmission choices are available a 6-speed manual transmission, or 6-speed automatic. Both have ARAI certified fuel efficiency figures of 14.6kmpl. The updated Elantra comes with a 3-year/unlimited kilometre warranty and three years of roadside assistance.
Notable features in the SX version are the LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, electric sunroof, manual seat height adjustment for the driver, dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, cooled glovebox, tilt and telescopic steering wheel adjustment, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, BlueLink connected car tech, hands-free smart trunk, cruise control, push-button start, electrically adjustable and foldable outer mirrors.
The company will soon launch a diesel version of the Elantra as well. The diesel engine is the same 1.5-litre unit seen in other new Hyundai cars like the new-gen Creta, Venue and Verna facelift. Here it makes 115PS and 250 Nm and can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque-convertor automatic.
