Hyundai Creta Electric launched in India at Rs 17.99 lakh
Hyundai Motors India has officially launched the Creta EV at Rs 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Creta Electric will be sold with 2 different battery pack options - 42kWh and 51.4kWh- across 4 distinct variants - Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Exterior
The electric version of the Creta has the same profile as its ICE counterpart, and the two will share several design features. The front and rear-linked LED lighting components resemble those of their ICE sibling. LED headlamps are arranged vertically beneath the linked headlights. There are a couple of things that are new, though. These include new aero-optimized 17-inch alloy wheels, a new sealed-off front grille, and front and rear bumpers with pixel-like detailing. The SUV has aground clearance of 200mm.
The Creta EV is also offered in 8 monotone colours - Abyss Black, Atlas White, Fiery Red, Starry Night, Ocean Blue, Ocean Blue Matte, Titan Grey Matte and Robust Emerald Matte. There are also 2 dual-tone options - Ocean Blue with Abyss Black roof and Atlas White with Abyss Black roof.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Powertrain
There are two battery pack options available for the upcoming Creta Electric: 51.4kWh and 42kWh units. While torque figures remain the same for both battery packs at 255Nm, the smaller battery pack only produces 135PS and the larger one produces 171PS.
It is stated that the range is 473 km (51.4kWh) and 390 km (42kWh) and Hyundai boasts that the more powerful car can sprint from 0 to 100 kph in 7.9 seconds. There are also three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport, as well as a drive mode selector positioned on the steering column.
According to Hyundai, the 11kW AC wall box charger can charge from 10 percent to 100 percent in 4 hours, but with the help of a DC fast charger, it can juice up the same in just 58 minutes.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Interior & Features
The design and look of the electric Creta's dashboard is pretty much similar to the ICE model. The electric SUV has a dual-screen configuration and a dual-tone interior design. Among the amenities are a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a wireless phone charger, dual-zone temperature control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a panoramic sunroof. The Creta Electric also has V2L capability.
The Creta Electric has a Level 2 ADAS suite, which includes lane keep assist, forward collision warning and blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and more. Other safety features include rear disc brakes, six airbags, hill-start and descent assist, ESC, tyre pressure monitoring and ISOFIX anchors, a 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers and front parking sensors.
