Motorcycles have unfortunately become synonymous with bad behaviour on the road. It's disconcerting to watch the lack of traffic etiquette that is earning motorcyclists nasty labels. Seems Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India are trying to change that. After setting up facilities for imparting road safety awareness in Jaipur and Delhi, they've now set their eyes on Chandigarh. HMSI and Chandigarh police will be collaborating for the company's fifth Traffic Education Park in the country.

The 15 acre facility in Sector 23-A will serve as a premises for imparting training to young riders on correct riding technique, road etiquette and more. While the participants can be as young as five years of age, virtual training with simulated road hazards will only be provided to those above 13. The virtual experience is expected to sharpen road sense and develop the ability to predict and react appropriately to possible threats while riding. There will also be programmes dedicated to promoting female riders and instilling the idea of 'independent mobility'. In an effort to make the exercise interesting for the young ones, Honda have brought in and designated 50 CRF motorcycles for training within the premises.
