Harley Davidson X440 garners over 25,000 bookings

Harley-Davidson India has disclosed the booking numbers for its most affordable motorcycle, the X440. When the X440's asking price started at Rs. 2.29 lakh, the brand managed to attract well over 25,000 purchasers in the first month of its debut. However, Harley-Davidson later changed the price and it is currently priced at Rs. 2,39,500 (ex-showroom).

Harley-Davidson X440: Engine

Co-developed with Hero MotoCorp, the X440 is the first single-cylinder Harley-Davidson to be manufactured in India. The American bike maker entered the sub-500cc motorcycle segment alongside its British rival Triumph, which has partnered with Bajaj Auto to produce its all-new Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X in the country.

Powering the X440 is a new 440cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled two-valve engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. This motor delivers 27.37PS at 6,000rpm and 38Nm of torque at 4,000rpm.

Harley-Davidson X440: Design And Colours

The all-new X440 is a modern classic roadster that draws inspiration from older Harley-Davidson motorcycles in terms of design, for example, the XR 1200. It also features the signature styling cues, such as a turtle fuel tank. Apart from that, the motorcycle features a round LED headlamp, round LED indicators, a slim LED taillight, a single-piece seat, and dual-tone alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the most affordable Harley-Davidson in the country is available in a variety of colour schemes, namely Mustard Denim, metallic Thick Red, Matt Black, and metallic Dark Silver.

Harley-Davidson X440: Features And Specs

The X440 gets all-LED lights, a small colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, dual-channel ABS, ByBre calliper with a 320mm single disc brake at the front, 240mm single disc brake at the back, KYB upside down front forks, and a dual-spring shock absorbers. The motorcycle runs on 190/90 18 section and 140/70 17 section MRF Zapper Hyke tyres at the front and rear, respectively. Further, it weighs 190.5kg and has a seat height of 805mm, while the ground clearance is rated at 170mm.
