Goodyear India appoints Sandeep Mahajan as managing director

Goodyear India made an announcement today, appointing Sandeep Mahajan as managing director from June 1, 2020 for a period of five years or up to the date of superannuation or retirement. Sandeep takes over the new position from Rajeev Anand who has spent 38 years with the brand in numerous senior leadership roles in India and ASEAN regions. Rajeev will continue to work with Goodyear India in capacity of chairman of the Board for India operations, from June 1 to December 31, 2020.

Rajeev was the chairman and managing director of Goodyear India for 11 years, and has functioned as manufacturing
director; ASEAN and India, director; manufacturing and strategic initiatives, India, and the company's chief operations officer. On the appointment of Sandeep Mahajan, he commented, "As I superannuate from the company, I am happy to hand over this role to Sandeep. I congratulate Sandeep on his new role. He has made significant contribution to the company in the past eight years and I am confident that under his leadership, Goodyear will further strengthen its position in the India market. His deep knowledge in Retail and diverse experience across domestic and international markets will help Goodyear grow its business in the India region."

Prior to this update, Sandeep Mahajan led Farm, Commercial, OTR and Consumer businesses
within Goodyear over the last eight years. The company mentions that he has been instrumental in consolidating the market leadership of the farm business in India. Sandeep has over 29 years of experience in working with large and well-known multinational companies. He started his career with Tata Steel Ltd, followed by important roles in Hindustan Unilever Ltd and LG Electronics.
