The facelifted Honda City has been sighted for the first time testing in India. The fifth-generation City, which has been offered for sale in India since 2020, will receive its first midlife upgrade with this model.

The 2023 Honda City facelift will include a modified style, characterized mostly by revamped bumpers, a new front grille, updated alloy wheels, and other subdued tweaks that give it a fresh look. It will probably also come with other minor design changes, such as a revised rear spoiler and LED lighting, among others.

A vast range of new technologies, such as a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, automated temperature management, and linked car technology, are anticipated to be included in the next Honda City facelift. This car will continue to come with additional options such an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a digital instrument panel, cruise control, etc.

Due to weak sales and impending tighter pollution regulations, the 100PS 1.5-litre diesel engine could not be included in the redesigned Honda City. As a result, the 1.5-litre gasoline engine with 121 PS and the 1.5-liter strong hybrid engine with 126 PS are expected to be the two most popular options. The non-hybrid model has a six-speed manual transmission, while both powertrains are connected to a CVT.

According to what we already know, the new Honda City will probably be equipped with equipment like hill start assist, ESC, ABS, a rearview camera, parking sensors, and a tyre pressure monitor. Additionally, it may include level 1 ADAS safety technology and would boast a long list of safety features and equipment for customers of the normal variations.

When the redesigned Honda City is released in India, you can anticipate it to cost more than the existing model, which starts at Rs 11.57 lakh (ex-showroom). It will restart competition with the generation-changing Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and VW Virtus.
