Escorts Brings Ferrari To Indian Farmers
At a time when the overall tractors segment has been witnessing contraction in demand since last year, Escorts Limited has upped the ante. For the first time, India will see a range of firsts in tractors in terms of all four equal-sized wheels, all-time four-wheel-drive system, oscillating chassis system, front engine mounting for super-low turning radius among others. All the above has been made possible by tying up with BCS S.p.A, an Italy-based manufacturer of the premium Ferrari tractors. The company has entered into a long-term association with BCS S.p.A for the small tractors which will be imported and sold as completely built units (CBUs).
Simultaneously, Escorts has lined up a range of other new launches â" high on performance, technology and a touch of glamour to attract high-end farmers.
While the 26hp Ferrari tractor suited for specialty farming has been priced at Rs 8 lakh, under its Farmtrac brand of hi-end tractors the company has a 60hp multipurpose tractor priced at Rs 7.4 lakh. The new tractor will be sold under Ferrari brand brought to India by Escorts.
