Last week, we mentioned of the Ducati Panigale V4 25 Anniversario 916 which is basically the Italian motorcycle manufacturer's homage to the 25 years of the 916. Ducati had already confirmed that this special offering will be manufactured in limited numbers, 500 to be precise. Ducati took the World Superbike championship held at Laguna Seca as a platform to showcase the Ducati Panigale V4 25 Anniversario 916 to the public. Making the occasion even more special was  four times world champion, Carl Fogarty riding two laps on this new machine.

Ducati mentions that this bike uses the mechanics of the Panigale V4 S which has been upgraded with front frame from the Panigale V4 R designed to Ducati Corse specifications. Further, the engine is mated to dry clutch that makes a note similar to the Ducatis of yesteryear. The Anniversario 916 is offered with track-specific electronics, such as Ducati Quick Shift EVO 2, optimised for aggressive gear shifts, and predictive Ducati Traction Control EVO 2 used in the V4 R and V4 R SBK. The predictive system works in line with the IMU and also monitors the lean angle and the wheelspin, which helps the system detect loss of grip quicker than before. The motorcycle comes with eight settings, six for dry and two for wet, wherein the traction system is supported by the  Ducati Quick Shift EVO 2.

Additionally, it also gets Marchesini Racing forged magnesium wheels that has made the motorcycle lighter by 1kg, along with Euro4-compliant titanium Akrapovi? silencer, further shelving 0.5kg as compared to the regular V4 S. The Ducati Panigale V4 25 Anniversario 916 is equipped with Ducati Data Analyser+ kit and GPS module that allows riders to analyse the inputs such as  lean angle, brake pressure and throttle application.

The Ducati Panigale V4 25 Anniversario 916 comes with a special livery which pays a tribute to the championship-winning 1999 Ducati 996 World Superbike that was ridden by Carl Fogarty. In fact, Carl rode the Anniversario 916 on stage at the unveiling event. Ducati will be offering optional Foggy and Shell stickers along with a large number one on the front and the sides of the motorcycle. It is said that Ducati has priced this limited-run offering at £36,995 (approx. Rs 31.64 lakh) The deliveries are all set to commence from October onward, wherein the international dealerships have already started accepting bookings for the same.

At this event, Ducati also announced a tribute to the American racer Carlin Dunne who lost his life at the 2019 Pikes Peak international Hill Climb while riding the Ducati Streetfighter V4 prototype. Ducati will be auctioning the bike with number 5 and the collections from that will be given to Dunne's mother Romie. This is in addition to the GoFundMe page, that has been set-up fort the same.
