After first showcasing its Desert X concept at the 2019 EICMA, Ducati has now set a date for the global unveil of its latest adventure motorcycle - December 9, 2021. On September 30, this year, the season for the introduction of new Ducati products will begin and will culminate on December 9, with the unveiling of the Desert X.

When the covers were pulled off the Desert X concept bike two years ago, the Ducati was said to be based on the Scrambler 1100 with its design inspired by some iconic models that competed in desert rallies back in the 80s and 90s. And with all its robustly styled bodywork including that cool pair of circular DRLs in the headlamp, it all did hint back toward some retro rally glory days.

Thankfully the bike we see today isn't far off from the concept model. Now the Ducati Desert X promises not to simply be a looker. This bike is meant to mean serious business offroad. The Desert X gets 21- (f) and 18-inch (r) wheels, twin fuel tanks as well as a removable pillion seat which makes room for a baggage carrier.

The production model will come powered by the 937cc, Testastretta V-twin engine from the latest Ducati Monster which was recently launched out here in India. This is all the information that we have for now, and we're sure that Ducati will drip feed us more specs the closer we get to the date of the bikes unveil.
