Datsun has released sketches of the new car concept that is set to be officially unveiled at the Auto Expo 2014. The concept will be showcased
along with the much-anticipated Datsun GO hatchback and the GO+ MPV. Datsun says the concept car represents the direction that the brand would like to take for its future cars.

Datsun was resurrected as a brand that caters solely to the entry level side of the market. So far the GO hatchback and GO+ MUV are exactly that - no nonsense, affordable machines. However this new concept seems to take things slightly higher up the food chain. What's evident is that the car offers significantly more style than either of the GO siblings. There's a big chrome edged grille up front while the headlamps are swept back into the shoulder line. The rear features a sharply swept back quarter panel, similar to what you'd find on a Honda CR-V. Even the wrap around tail lamps have a Volvo or CR-V esque theme. The sketch indicates that it's not a very large looking hatch so it might share the GO's powertrain but this is purely speculative at this moment. Datsun should disclose more at the Auto Expo and the premiere on Feb 5.
