Dakar 2018: Walkner and Sainz maintain overall lead after Stage 13

The penultimate stage of the 2018 Dakar has concluded, with competitors travelling from San Juan to Cordoba, covering over 900km over the course of the day.

In the Moto class, it was Toby Price who led the way, keeping Kevin Benavides at bay. However, Price is still classified third in the General Classification. Leading the head of the Moto Class after 13 stages of rallying is KTM's Matthias Walkner.

Stage winner in Cars category was Toyota's Nasser Al-Attiyah. It was disaster for Peugeot's Stephane Peterhansel, who ended the stage 20th after crashing into a tree.

However, his Peugeot team-mate Carlos Sainz still leads the general standings after 13 stages, with Al-Attiyah 46 minutes adrift. Giniel de Villiers is currently third in the general rankings.

Victory in the 13th stage in the Truck category went to Kamaz driver Eduard Nikolaev. The Russian still leads the general standings in the category, with one stage to spare.

In the Quad class, Ignacio Casale still holds the overall lead, with just one stage remaining. Reinaldo Varela still leads the SxS class after 13 stages of rallying.
