COVID19 impact: Volvo Car India insures all dealer employees
To counter the second COVID19 wave sweeping through the country, Volvo Car India has covered all of its dealers' employees under a COVID19 insurance policy.
These employees have been provided a Rs 10 lakh insurance cover each across all 25 Volvo dealerships in the country, to protect against the financial impact of the loss of a family's sole earner due to the disease. An employee's family is entitled to the amount in the event of their death. Volvo Car India will cover the insurance premium cost for this benefit.
"Dealer employees are usually the first interface that Volvo customers have with the Company. They play a crucial role in customer satisfaction. For us, they are an integral part of our team and therefore the company does have a responsibility towards them, more so during these unprecedented times. While we hope and pray that there is no pay-out under this initiative it is definitely a comforting hope for those in our dealership ecosystem" said Jyoti Malhotra, managing director of Volvo Car India.
Volvo Car India recently showcased the Volvo XC40 Recharge EV SUV in the country. This kicks off an ambitious eletrification plan for the Swedish brand in the country, which will of switching 80 per cent of its portfolio to EVs by 2025. The company will also switch to a petrol-only line-up before this, starting with the launch of the Volvo XC60 facelift and XC90 facelift this year.
