Coronavirus impact: Volkswagen introduces #VWellnessIndia program
Volkswagen India introduces its comprehensive #VWellnessIndia program that focusses on the safety and security of all its stakeholders. The program aims to provide and maintain health, hygiene and sanitisation standards across its facilities. The program ensures the safety of employees and customers at dealerships and service workshops while it resumes operations in the post-lockdown world.
The company has created a manual that explains all the preventive measures that need to be followed across all network facilities. It includes hygiene practices, wearing of masks and gloves, timely sanitisation of the facility and vehicles, placement and usage of hand sanitisers, thermal scanning and safe distancing. The company has also hosted virtual training sessions for sales, service and administration teams.
The company is providing hand gloves and masks across the 137 sales and 116 service workshops. All the employees will wear protective gear and perform contactless greetings while welcoming customers. All dealerships and service workshops will be branded by Volkswagen's 'Safe and Sanitised' logo, this will help customers be at ease while visiting dealerships and service stations. It is also to denote the adherence of the safety protocols.
The brand has developed its digital infrastructure to enable a seamless sales and service buying experience for customers who prefer interacting while being at the comfort of their homes. It also includes contactless services, doorstep delivery and virtual engagement possibilities.
Steffen Knapp, director at Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said, "At Volkswagen, safety is in our DNA, which isn't limited to our vehicles but also extends to human well-being. The #VWellnessIndia program provides our network extensive details on sanitisation and contactless measures that need to be implemented for business continuity. We aim to offer our customers complete peace of mind and hassle-free experience while visiting a Volkswagen sales and service facility."
