Caterham appoints Graham Macdonald as its new CEO

Caterham Group of companies has appointed Graham Macdonald as its new CEO. He now takes responsibility overall  for all arms of the business, which include Caterham Cars, Caterham F1 Team, Caterham Technology & Innovation and Caterham Composites. All heads of these wings will report directly to Macdonald.

Macdonald was earlier the CEO of the car arm, Caterham Cars. At last month's Singapore Grand Prix, Tony Fernandes and Kamarudin Meranun, shareholders and co-chairmen, had spoken about the group's future plans for aggressive expansion."In the short time that Graham has been at the helm of Caterham Cars in what is a fascinating period of change for the brand, he has been a dynamic and steadfast leader. His experience and dedication is exactly what we now need to drive the Group forward into its next, exciting chapter," said Fernandes.

At the same event, they also revealed their first road model in close to two decades, the Caterham AeroSeven Concept. There are also ideas of an SUV, a city model and a motorcycle being floated. The group has also made forays into sectors like marine, airline and bicycle.

"The last year has been a whirlwind for me at the head of Caterham Cars and I'm honoured to be asked to elevate my role for the whole of the Caterham Group. Caterham is going through a revolution in terms of its brand proposition and status so to be at the forefront of that change is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me," said Macdonald.
