BMW R 1300 RS unveiled globally

The BMW R 1300 RS has been unveiled globally, the bike is powered by a 1,300cc, twin-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled DOHC boxer engine that delivers 147.01PS of power at 7,750rpm and 149Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The engine is mated with a six-speed gearbox and features shaft drive technology.

The R 1300 RS is built on a sheet metal shell frame with an aluminium subframe. It features BMW's Telelever EVO front suspension and Paralever rear suspension. The braking includes dual 310mm front discs with four-piston calipers and a 285mm rear disc, supported by BMW's Full Integral ABS Pro. The bike rides on 17-inch aluminium wheels - 120/70 ZR17 front and 180/55 ZR17 rear.

The seat height is adjustable between 820mm and 840mm, while the wheelbase is 1,518mm. The bike has a fuel tank capacity of 17.5L and weighs 237kg(road-ready). In terms of features, the R 1300 RS includes four standard riding modes - Rain, Road, Eco and Dynamic, alongside Dynamic Traction Control(DTC), Engine Drag Torque Control(MSR) and Hill Start Control.

Additionally it also offers a 6.5-inch TFT colour display with navigation, bluetooth connectivity, heated grips and cruise control. In terms of style the bike features a single LED headlamp, rear design. Optional accessories include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Change Warning, Front Collision Warning, Luggage mounts and taller seats. BMW Motorrad is expected to launch the R 1300 RS in India soon, with official prices yet to be announced.
