BMW India to increase prices across segments by 7 to 10% on January 1, 2014

BMW India has announced a price increase across the BMW and MINI product range effective January 1,2014. The hike will be in the range of  7 to 10 per cent.

To help customers buy prior to the hike, BMW Financial Services India and MINI Financial Services India will offer a range of financing solutions. They will also offer lease for individuals as also corporate customers along with insurance solutions through their cooperation partner in India.

The BMW cars that are locally produced at the plant in Chennai include the 1 Series, the 3 Series, the 5 Series, the 7 Series, the X1 and the X3. On the other hand, the 6 Series Coupe, the 6 Series Convertible, the 6 Series Gran Coupe, the X5, the X6 and the Z4 come into India as completely built-up units (CBU). The M5, the M6 Coupe, the M6 Convertible, the 6 Series Individual and the 7 Series Individual can also be ordered as CBU.

The Countryman from the Mini stable is also locally manufactured at BMW's plant in Chennai. The Mini Hatch and Mini Convertible are imported as completely built-up units.

BMW recently launched the new Z4 in India. Priced starting at Rs 68.9 lakh, the car draws power from a twinturbo 3.0-litre 6-cylinder engine which makes 306PS of power and 400Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic box which directs power to the rear wheels.
