The new BMW i7 M70 xDrive, the company's most powerful electric vehicle to date, has been unveiled by BMW's M Performance vehicle division. After making its premiere at the Shanghai Motor Show, this is the third all-electric BMW M vehicle.

The electric M performance car is distinguishable from other i7 versions by a redesigned front bumper and an illuminated grille. Exterior mirror housings with 'double arms' and broader sills beneath the doors are located further back. The i7 M70 xDrive's rear bumper has been redesigned, including a new valance and diffuser element.

The external appearance is enhanced with high gloss accents as part of the optional M Performance Package. Customers may also order a two-tone paint treatment through BMW Individual. The i70 M70 comes equipped with air suspension and 21-inch wheels to offer a pleasant ride while silently rocketing down the road.

The BMW i7 M70 is the quickest and most powerful EV yet developed, with a twin electric motor, and all-wheel-drive (AWD) system generating up to 1,100 Nm of torque and 660 PS. When M launch mode or the M sport boost function is active, the big-body BMW can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph) in as little as 3.7 seconds.

A 101.7kWh lithium-ion battery placed within the CLAR chassis of the new vehicle provides electric power. It is stated that the i7 M70 xDrive will have a WLTP range of between 488km and 560km thanks to its own individually designed power electronics system.

The BMW i7 M70 is a force, powered by two e-motors and the automaker's fifth-generation eDrive technology. With a power density rating of 2.41 kW/kg, the rear axle motor is the most dynamic electric motor in BMW's lineup.

The performance i7 has a max range setting that increases the range by 15 percent to 25 percent. The EV's top speed, however, is limited to  90 kmph, and climate control is disabled.

BMW presently offers the i7 xDrive 60 in India for Rs 1.95 crore (ex-showroom, India), and the i7 M70 xDrive is expected to be introduced here as well.
