You've seen all the teasers, you've seen parts of the bike before, here's the sum of all of them - the TVS Apache RR310-based bike that bares a Bavarian badge ladies and gents – this is the BMW G310 RR.

BMW Motorrad has launched its smallest sportbike, the G310 RR at Rs 2.85 lakh. The BMW G310 RR Style Sport has a price tag of Rs 2.99 lakh.

Now, although it wouldn't take a genius to discover that the bike would be based on the TVS Apache RR310, the extent of the features that would be carried over from the older bike, and what would be new, was previously unknown. And now, it's time to find out.

From the bunch of online teasers, it was plain to see that the BMW G130 RR carries over the aggressive riding stance and bodywork from TVS Apache RR310. The only real visual difference being the new paint scheme. And that pretty much sums it up honestly, so what you still have are the aggressive-looking split LED blinkers up front, a small visor that provides a good amount of wind protection when you tuck in, a sharp front fairing, a sporty-shape fuel , and an aggressive upswept tail section.

The BMW also gets golden USD forks, alloy wheels, and an exposed trellis frame - all of which are identical to the Apache RR310. But none of the extra stuff that TVS offers with the Apache RR310 BTO in terms of the fully-adjustable suspension KYB set-up front forks that get a 20-step compression and rebound damping, as well as 15 mm of preload adjustment. Although the BMW's rear monoshock is adjustable by a couple of clicks, it isn't as sophisticated as the 20-step rebound damping and a 10-step preload adjuster that TVS has on offer with the Apache BTO. The BMW misses out on the adjustable levers as well. However, you do get the bi-directional quickshifter, and traction control settings to help you on your escapades out on track.

What sets the bike apart visually is the 'BMW' badge on the fairing and the brand's racy 'M' livery which will treat you to red and blue graphics splashed across the bike's white body panels.

At the heart of the BMW G310 RR is the same tried and tested 312cc, liquid-cooled single-pot mill that pushes out 34PS and 27.3Nm - which can be dialled down via the ride modes that the bike comes with. One major upset is the fact that the G310 RR misses out on Bluetooth connectivity and a basic turn-by-turn navigation system.

The BMW G310 RR is priced at Rs 2.85 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) which makes it Rs 20,000 more expensive than the TVS Apache RR310 Rs 2.65 lakh. BMW Motorrad has already commenced the pre-bookings for its new sporty offering, the G310 RR.
