BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe to be launched in India on May 29, 2015

BMW India is set to launch the upgraded 6 Series Gran Coupe in India on May 29, 2015. The car has undergone an update and BMW says the 6 Series Gran Coupe has what it calls "a heightened sense of elegance".

The exterior revisions include a new BMW kidney grille design as well as new front and rear aprons. Models that feature the six-cylinder engines will have larger exhaust pipe embellishers. BMW has equipped the car with full LED headlights as standard. Customers can also opt for BMW's Adaptive LED headlights that feature BMW's Selective Beam tech.

Another addition to the options list is a range of 20-inch, light-alloy wheels.

BMW will offer the car with two engine configurations, six-cylinder inline or V8 with BMW's Twin Power Turbo technology. The BMW 650i xDrive Gran Coupe sports the petrol V8 engine that displaces 4395cc and produces 450PS and 650Nm of torque.

The 640i xDrive Gran Coupe will come with a 3-litre, six-cylinder inline petrol that produces 320PS and 450Nm. The only diesel in the range is the 640d xDrive Gran Coupe that generates 313PS and 630Nm of torque. The petrol engined models will come with sports exhaust systems as standard. The exhaust has switchable flaps that enhance the sound.

The car will also come with the latest generation of BMW's Head Up Display (HUD) and the company says that it will aid driver concentration. BMW also offers its Connected Drive navigation system as standard. A dual-colour scheme for the interior will be available as an option.

The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe will feature an array of technologies such as the BMW Dynamic Damper Control (DDC), Adaptive Drive and Integral Active Steering. The car will be available with a choice of new colours namely, Jatoba metallic, Cashmere Silver metallic, Glacier Silver metallic, Mediterranean Blue metallic and Melbourne Red metallic.
